KATE UPTON IS HOT, BUT SHE'S WRONG

If I am working and stuff doesn't go my way, the last thing I want is my wife fighting my battles. Justin Verlander was on the losing side of the World Series Game 6 last night.  Get over it, Kate. That's baseball.

What happened last night at the Nationals / Astros game was great for the Nats when they eventually won, but it didn't always look good.  That play at first base with Trea Turner busting down the line was a perfect running play.  If anything, what was in question was the throw, NOT the run.  Turner made it to first, then busted to second and then the umpire threw him out for interference or some garbage.

Look at this:

And then that gets me to Kate Upton. Ranting like she's Giselle after Tommy Brady lost the Super Bowl.

You're hot, but you're wrong about this one. Do you really think Umpires take into account that runners are running between the "2 lines"?

No, they are looking at the play at first base... because if you look at 90% of baseball players running to first... they aren't doing that.  Relax.

Game 7 is happening folks! If you're a baseball fan... it's what you want!

GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE!

Small note just because you gotta respect the grind and just great seasons in this game.  Red Sox pitcher Rick Porcello has won the Cy Young for the American League. For the National League, it was Max Scherzer.

NJ.com writes:

"...Cleveland's Corey Kluber and Detroit's Justin Verlander were the top three finalists for the award.

The Boston Red Sox righty had a remarkable season for the AL East winners. Porcello went 22-4 with a 3.15 ERA, 223 innings pitched, 3.40 fielding independent pitching (FIP), 145 ERA+, 1.009 WHIP, 3 complete games, 5.91 SO/BB ratio and 5.0 WAR."

Of course, with Porcello's win, Kate Upton came out to say how disappointed she was because her lover Justin Verlander didn't win, and of course... according to her, he should have.

There can only be one winner for Cy Young, Kate. Sorry.

And for all my BYB male portion of the audience...

Here's a winner too.

God bless.

THE YANKEES HANDLED KATE UPTON WELL

Silly report, and one I don't care much about. I mean, we live in America, not Russia and so, I don't exactly believe the story about being told what to wear at Yankee Stadium. But then again, I'm a Yankee fan that can't exactly afford Legends seats... so I don't know what the Yankees organization can and can't tell ticket holders there.  That being said, here it goes:

We all know Kate Upton was in Yankee Stadium last week gushing over Justin Verlander. There was a ball given to her and everyone smiled.

But as I mentioned in AND YOU WONDER WHY VERLANDER'S STRUGGLING..., everyone knew Kate was a Yankee fan, but to support Justin-Baby, she wanted to wear Tigers gear.  Turns out, according to her, she wasn't allowed:

"They specifically told me, the Yankees told me, they’re like, 'You’re not allowed to wear a Tigers’ hat. You’re not allowed to wear any Tigers’ gear.'”

Is it true? Who the hell knows. I can't imagine the Yankees are that stiff about the Legends seats, but maybe they are.

Oh and in Verlander news, he's hurt. Reports are he has shoulder soreness. Read HERE. So maybe it was a legit injury and Kate wasn't the reason for his lousy season.  Oh... and I'm kidding for all you readers who blasted me for thinking the "Upton-Struggle" theory was serious.

AND YOU WONDER WHY VERLANDER'S STRUGGLING...

Justin Verlander is 10-10 with a 4.57 ERA. in 2011 he was 24-5 with a 2.40 ERA.  Kate Upton has to be responsible.

Now, let me be clear, I think Kate and Justin are adorable together, but clearly there's a distraction.  Yes, I have heard about the rumors about Verlander just getting worn down, pitching over 200 plus innings each season, but, he's a starter. Isn't that his job? I mean look at this below... is ARod did this he'd get crucified, but Verlander can go gaga over boobs... er, um, I mean Kate.

Bottom line, it's not our problem, it's the Tigers.  Any way we can beat them, let's do it! Hey, isn't Kate a Yankee fan anyway? Maybe she's a plant.

One can wish... Go Yanks!

YOUKILIS, CABRAL, KATE UPTON & SOMETHING FOR THE LADIES

Some news out of Yankeeland and a few other things that I need to get off my chest... and yes, one that has to do with Kate Upton. Don't get crazy ladies... keep reading...

Kevin Youkilis: First off, Kevin Youkilis.  Youk was placed on the Disabled List yesterday and with that, it forced the Yankees to call up Thomas Neal and Chris Bootcheck. Both played in last night's 5-2 loss against Anaheim, read HERE.  According to Lou DiPietro of YESNetwork.com HERE, the reaccuring lumbar strain problem won't go away, "Youkilis spent nearly five weeks on the disabled list earlier this season because of a similarly-termed lumbar spine strain... Neal, who was signed to a Minor League deal with a Spring Training invite last winter, has spent the entire season at triple-A, hitting .339 with two home runs and 24 RBI in 47 games for the RailRiders. The 25-year-old has nine games of previous Major League experience... Bootcheck, a former first-round draft pick of the Angels who made his MLB debut with the Halos in 2003, was 5-2 with a 3.32 ERA in 11 starts for the RailRiders this season, and has a 3-7, 6.54 line in 90 career MLB appearances with the Angels and Pirates from 2003-09."

Maybe we see Youk soon... maybe we don't. I like David Adams right now anyway. I think I'm over Youk.

Cesar Cabral: Lou DiPietro of YESNetwork.com is the hardest working writing ever... next to me (I kid, I kid... or maybe I don't.)  Anyway, according to Lou (HERE), "The Yankees have outrighted LHP Cesar Cabral to Double-A Trenton, and the 24-year-old lefty joined the Thunder’s active roster on Friday night...The southpaw just finished a 30-day rehab assignment, one that saw him make five appearances at Class-A Advanced Tampa before finishing up with three more in Trenton. Overall, he allowed nine earned runs in 12 innings, striking out 10 but also walking 10."

There you go.

Kate Upton: This is a picture of Kate Upton.  I only revisit Kate because recently I was accused of being a chauvinist pig.  Wow. I'm not. Upton's a model and sometimes I like to get your attention here at BYB.  If you think I'm being over the top, go search the other blogs.  We're just having fun here. We're not changing.  I'm sorry if you feel that way and I hope you understand that I have never taken myself too seriously, but the reality is, sometimes in the Internet world, you need to be provocative... please understand that. It's all in good fun.

Channing Tatum: There is no absolutely NO news about Channing Tatum. In fact, the only real news is  that I didn't know who he was until about a month ago. Sorry, I'm busy... I'm busy putting up pictures of Kate Upton apparently.  Clearly the ladies know him and so here you go... I gave the ladies one... You female chauvinists... I'm joking.

Beautiful people at Bleeding Yankee Blue. We're 1 big happy family.

Enjoy your Saturday...and stop yelling at me.

KEVIN YOUKILIS, VIDAL NUNO & KATE UPTON

Just wanted to update you on some stuff going on in Yankeeland and on the Internet. Yup... Kate Upton needs to be addressed.

Kevin Youkilis: Youk has a stiff back. We've known that.  He was out a lot this year already and just literally came back. Now however he was scratched from the Yankee game verses King Felix on Sunday.  According to CBSSports.com, "'It’s nothing like it was before,' Youkilis said. 'Just needs a little rest.'

The infielder tweaked his back sliding into first base on a defensive play Saturday against the Seattle Mariners. Youkilis, who missed a month due to pain related to a bulging disc, was activated from the DL on May 31."
Read it all HERE. Do I expect him back? I do, but I'm not counting on him being too effective.  In fact, I'm losing my patience quickly. I want players that play, not Carl Pavano.

Vidal Nuno: And speaking injury, the other day in an outing for the RailRiders, Nuno had tightness in his groin and was forced to leave.  According to the Star-Ledger HERE, "Vidal Nuno departed his Triple-A start due to tightness in his groin. Girardi expects Nuno to land on the RailRiders’ disabled list.

'Sometimes when you have a groin with a pitcher, you’ll DL him just to make sure,' Girardi said before Saturday’s game against the Mariners. 'I’m not sure which one it is. But either one is kind of dangerous.'" OK then. Can't wait to have him back though.

Kate Upton: And speaking of groin (I kid, I kid), Kate Upton. Apparently Kate Upton turned 21 today... that's all I got. Enjoy gentlemen.

HAPPY EASTER

Look we all know what Spring and Easter means.  As the Easter Bunny says in Rise of the Guardians, Easter is a new beginning.  It's new life and when it comes to baseball, it's the beginning of a new season; Spring, Easter and tomorrow is Opening Day.  I'll be attending church with my family this morning and then having some family time today... no Little League, no work, just some food and family on a gorgeous day in the Northeast.

So today let's keep it light on BYB, laugh alittle, gawk alittle.  Here's Kate Upton in an Easter video.  It's funny, it's sexy... and it's a new beginning.

We'll have more stories later as we gear up for Yankees Opening Day so look for it. For now, enjoy this...

Happy Easter to all our Bleeding Yankee Blue readers.  You're the best, you always have been. Thank you.

PRIOR, VAZQUEZ, MATSUZAKA & KATE UPTON

Let's face it, there isn't a ton of news reading about Mark Prior, Javier and Daisuke Matsuzada, but there are some good nuggets... plus, Kate Upton's been up to some stuff too.  Can't leave her out...

Mark Prior: Prior is in the best shape of his life.  Thank God.  According to Comcast Sportsnet Chicago, He wants one more shot.  Read about it HERE.

Javier Vazquez: The Nationals like Vazquez, but Vazquez isn't sure if the Nationals is for him.  That comes from the Washington Post, read HERE. Yankee fans are hoping Vazquez is NOT on the radar for the Yankees.  BYB wrote WILL THE YANKEES REUNITE WITH JAVIER VAZQUEZ? and we've been getting a lot of concern from Yankee fans about it.

Daisuke Matsuzada:  According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.com, Matsuzada has just signed a minor league deal with the Cleveland Indians.  You can read Jon HERE.

Kate Upton: Upton has done it again.  She is appearing on her second Sports Illustrated swimsuit cover, back to back... read HERE.  Photo above.  This past year she's been all over the place, including Bleeding Yankee Blue.  Congrats to Upton, and well... there are a lot of men happy with the choice I'm sure.

HEY JUSTIN, THAT'S NOT KATE UPTON!

I like Justin Verlander.  I think he's one of the best pitchers out there and deserves everything that comes his way.  He's a gamer. If he can get a super model like Kate Upton, which he's been rumored to be dating and was on vacation with, according to reports, HERE, good for him.  If he wants a dog named Riley, like his dog in the picture above, he should have it.  Plus, the damn dog knows how to smile for a picture, so I guess that's a plus. Not gonna lie though, I'd like to see a Kate Upton pout rather than a dog smile...that's just me.

So why am I bringing any of this up? It has been a very, very slow Yankee news day, what else is new?  So, I saw Verlander had tweeted that he's going to spring training now, a month before Pitchers and Catchers actually report to get started and he tweeted that below.  Hey, I have to give the guy credit, he's dedicated.
But come to think of it... dedication is being totally discreet with Kate Upton and never being seen together ever!  He must really dig her that he'd be that private about it.

What can I say, I love this guy! He does everything right in my book.

BLEEDING YANKEE BLUE SAYS HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It's about to be a New Year! This means many things, but it especially means we turn the page and start a new.  There have been some great things that happened this year in my life that I'm proud of.  There are many things that make me realize that a new year may also be good.  Overall though, I'm happy and hopefully you are too.

We here at Bleeding Yankee Blue had a nice year. We built an audience, we kept our audience happy (hopefully) and hopefully, we brought you some good opinion, good news and made you laugh alittle.  We try not to be tight asses here.  We try to have fun, but sometimes our frustration comes out. At the end of the day though, we hope we entertained you.

We talked a lot about the Yankees, we rooted hard, we even got alittle pissed off once in a while but we never have ever walked away from our team and lost our focus. Bottom line, we love the pinstripes because no matter what team is out there, led by our Captain, they are the best damn team alive.  They are our New York Yankees! 2012 wasn't as bad as we think, but 2013 will be better for our club and you need to believe that. I know I do in my heart...

I never imagined that writing down my thoughts about my baseball team would turn into something big.  I really just needed an outlet. That's what BYB was supposed to be.  But then one friend sent it to another and suddenly, BYB was outside the "circle" and before you know it, you guys happened.  BYB accomplished alot, not by being arrogant, not by loading you with stats, but instead by being real. You've accepted that, you look for us in the morning when you're having your coffee and you look to us to bring you different opinions you don't find elsewhere.  We make you think, we make you smile and we me make you realize that while baseball is a business... it's also a game you can enjoy with your family once in a while.  It's an outlet... like BYB is.

So how did it all happen? You, your friends, your relatives, cousins,  my parents, even my dentist found Bleeding Yankee Blue. Some searched for us and some stumbled onto us... but we built a family here and that's what we're all about... Life... Love... Yankees.
There are a variety of things to look for here.  We speak honestly about our New York Yankees and the other great players in Major League Baseball and you look for that. Some just come to us to check out the stories about Kate Upton.  Some just like to laugh so they look for our fake TEXT EXCHANGES.  Some need to get baseball news.  Others just like to comment.  In the end though, you all come here at some point to read something on Bleeding Yankee Blue.  It's great and I absolutely hope you tell a friend.

This website would not be possible without you guys and of course our terrific writers.  We have the best and they are underrated.  Jeana Bellezza, Jesse Schindler, Erica Morales, Suzie Pinstripe, Lem Allen and Chris Kram do incredible work because they want to, not because they have to.  They love their team and they love your feedback with every piece they write.  Come the New Year, we'll have regular pieces from others like Steve Skinner, Ike Dimitriadis and Christy Lee too.  It's a new year, we have new focus and even a new look! BYB is still here, and we are happy to serve.

So Happy New Year to the best damn readers ever...You!  If you've read us since the beginning, you've been with us for a wild ride!  If you are just finding us now, we want you to stay, but most importantly, if you like what you see... pass it around, tell a friend, email a link, share one, print it out and post it on your fridge. Do whatever you do, because it working, it's the secret to our success.  It's wild to think about, but that's how it all happened.
2013 will bring great things for the Yankees. I picture a healthy Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera.  It seemed like almost like a bad joke the way Mariano started off the season with that horrible injury and then Jeet bookended it with an injury of his own.  Hopefully they come back healthy, they kick some ass and lead the charge toward #28 in 2013.
I look forward to seeing Giancarlo Stanton in pinstripes. I know, I know, the chances are slim... but think about the timing of all of this. Think about how quiet the Yankees have been this off season. Now think about the Marlins suddenly listening to offers for Stanton. Now... think about Cashman saying they wanted a right fielder with power before a left handed DH like Raul Ibanez... now think about Giancarlo Stanton in pinstripes in 2013.

Plus, 2013 will bring great things for guys like Joba Chamberlain, Ichiro Suzuki, Robinson Cano, Mark Teixieira, Kevin Youkilis and the rest. Damn... is it baseball season yet?  I can't wait.

In closing, I just want to let you know how grateful I am to have you all as loyal readers.  I always had thoughts I wanted to get off my chest when it came to baseball.  Now these thoughts are being read and I am at ease.  I know there are days you love to read us and I know there are days you sense my sarcasm, or humor, sadness or frustration, and in the end, you still come back.  That's a testament to our great writers and your loyalty.  Sure, BYB is a product that we will always tinker with, but that's because we want to improve it and make it better, for you. After all, you deserve it.

So thanks for always being there, thanks for reading and let's make 2013 a great year for the Yankees, for Bleeding Yankee Blue and for your family.

In the end, my wife and I will start 2013 off on a high note...

We're going to see "This is 40". We'll go the the theater, we'll laugh our ass off about how funny Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann are together and we'll tell each other about 10 times throughout the film how we remind each other of them... Yeah, it's true... besides Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos...

Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann would definitely be the "Celebrities most likely to play us in the movie" people. Come on... I know you play that game too.

Happy New Year... thanks for being loyal and good luck to everyone in 2013...

Life... Love... Yankees!

DAN PATRICK MOVES ON TO BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS...

Whenever I can, I listen to the Dan Patrick Show.  When I do, I'm entertained... always. The Danettes are great and the guys are always very knowledgeable about all sports.

I love when Dan Patrick makes cameo appearances in Adam Sandler films.  One of my favorites has to be in Just Go With it where he is a guy holding a hula contest in Hawaii. Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston tie and the tie breaker is Coconut Smoochie. That classic scene is below, and Dan Patrick does a great job.

.

Let me also say for the record that in that film, Jennifer Aniston gives Brooklyn Decker a run for her money. I never really thought about Jennifer Aniston as a sex symbol, but she looks great and you gotta give her credit, she's clearly dedicated.

She looks amazing, my wife and I both agreed. Anyway, now I'm getting off track...typical.

I also loved when Kate Upton showed up to the Dan Patrick show while back. We even wrote about it on BYB because it was a show I was home and able to listen too and it was pretty damn funny.  Fritzy stole the show.  Read WHY IT'S ALL KATE UPTON ON THE DAN PATRICK SHOW. Highly entertaining.

So what's the point of this post?  Clearly I have a point, right? I do. Good news for Dan and the Danettes.  The Dan Patrick show will be live tomorrow at 9am on NBC Sports Network, read HERE... they have a new deal.

According to the press release, "NBC Sports Network has acquired multi-year rights from DIRECTV to air The Dan Patrick Show, the renowned sports television show and syndicated radio program starring Football Night in America co-host Dan Patrick. The Dan Patrick Show will debut on NBC Sports Network tomorrow and air weekdays from 9 a.m.–Noon ET. A “Best Of” version will air weekday afternoons from 4-5 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.

To coincide with the debut of the show tomorrow, NBC Sports Network will relocate to Channel 220 (from Channel 603) on DIRECTV, which is adjacent to other national sports channels. DIRECTV owns and operates The Dan Patrick Show, which airs daily on DIRECTV’s exclusive Audience Network as well."

Look, that's huge and I just want to say how glad I am for those guys. They put in long hours, they work hard and put on some great shows! Congrats to the Dan Patrick Show.

JUSTIN VERLANDER'S WEAKNESS... KATE UPTON

I just have to jump in and make a silly, obnoxious statement. It was the 4th inning of Game 1 of the World Series and Justin Verlander looked like Sergio Mitre in the game. 5-0 Giants after 4 and Verlander was knocked out.

I have one thing to say... thank God for Kate Upton.  I always think back to the All-Star game this season when Verlander had a terrible All-Star start.  Read IS KATE UPTON THE REASON VERLANDER BLEW HIS ALL-STAR START?  If Kate Upton is Verlander's girlfriend, she must have kryptonite in her pocket... maybe she has something to do with tonight... who knows...

Go Giants and great pitching by Barry Zito!

ALEX RODRIGUEZ, JASON GIAMBI, ICHIRO & THE GREAT KATE UPTON

ALEX RODRIGUEZ: For anyone that thought that Alex Rodriguez was going to get traded to the Miami Marlins the day after the Yankees were swept in the ALCS, think again.  Look, to be honest with you, I have never written about this story until now.  Why? Because I think it’s crap and once again, there are “sources” involved and no one is verifying the story, they're just piling on, trying to put pressure on the New York Yankees to say something, anything so they can get a further nugget about it. The closest we were able to dig into was the story involving Hank Steinbrenner saying Alex is getting too much of the blame, HERE. The other was Alex saying he’s happy to be in pinstripes HERE.  Oh, and the great Jon Heyman who also uses “sources” to tell us that the Miami Marlins and Los Angeles Dodgers, are not interested in Alex and a Miami “source” also said it wasn’t happening.  Read the HERE. Look, if Alex gets traded, I am stating for the record that I’m NOT in favor of it, one of the few, but I’ll except it if it betters the Yankees.  Stay tuned…
ICHIRO SUZUKI: According to a Star Ledger piece by Jerff Bradley and Andy McCullough (HERE), Ichiro wants "to be wanted", but there was nothing further on his end. Look, if that means the Yankees or him going somewhere else, who knows. This is what Suzuki said: “I want to be that player that is needed and is wanted... That’s what I can tell you today.”  Look, the smartest move the Yankees made all season was signing Hiroki Kuroda and Ichiro Suzuki and I’ll believe that for a long, long time.  Ichiro did everything expected of him and I am a firm believer that the Yankees should sign Ichiro, a 10 time gold glover  to a 2 year deal to play right field for the Yankees next season.  As far as I’m concerned Nick Swisher is out of the Bronx.  It was a terrible way to go out, but he chose that route, not us.  And for all you that don’t know if Nick slammed “all” fans of just the bleacher creatures at Yankee Stadium, trust me, it was the bleacher creatures, which represents ALL New York Yankee fans! Sure, it may not be me, or you specifically, but he did it and I no longer want him manning right field in New York.  If you sign Ichiro to right field and you have him for $8 million cheaper than Nick Swisher per year, that's a good  thing. Plus, he won’t lose the ball in the lights, get me?
JASON GIAMBI: Before you get all crazy, Giambi is not coming back to the Yankees.  I just wanted to share this with you because we haven’t heard from him in a while.  It turns out Jason Giambi is being interviewed for the Colorado Rockies managerial job.  That comes from Troy Renck of the Denver Post, HERE.  I never pictured Giambi as a manager ever, but hey, maybe they see something that I don’t.  Good for Jason.  Hopefully he has a shot.
CC SABATHIA: This is a true team player right here.  I read Marc Carig of Newsday and he had a piece about CC Sabathia (HERE), and after all the woes with the Yankees hitting for the entire ALCS, CC Sabathia stepped forward and said this about his own performance in Game 4: “It’s embarrassing to come out and not give my team a chance to win…I pride myself in trying to give us a chance and I didn’t do that tonight.” Wow.  Look, CC Sabathia and the rest of the Yankees pitching was great all postseason and yeah, CC may have shit the bed in Game 4, but who cares, the rest of the offense never showed up. The blame can’t be on CC here and I just find him to be a real dynamic guy and I love that he’s in pinstripes.   Now, one note, the Yankees are concerned CC’s left elbow may have been giving him problems even though CC denies that.  Either way, they want to check it out.  Read HERE. If they find anyone, I’ll let you know here at BYB.

(In Photo: Kate Upton's first Vogue Shoot)

KATE UPTON:  OK, so anytime 1 supermodel sends out a Tweet about a second supermodel and says that they saw pictures of that model and she felt "all tingly"…well, I'm in...I'm curious.

Chrissy Teigen sent this tweet above about Kate Upton and low and behold, she was right…about the pictures. So of course, for the eyes of BYB readers, we decided to show you 2 and here’s the link HERE. Enjoy.

If you haven’t realized that Kate Upton is an internet sensation yet… you do now.

God Bless America.
