SONNY GRAY, THE ASTROS & NOT THE YANKEES

And so do I, and I wonder if the Yanks have been in any recent contact with the Oakland A's about Sonny Gray? I doubt it, because if they were... we would have heard it.  Too bad... I mean the last thing we wrote about involving Sonny Gray was back in March of 2016 in a piece called THERE'S THAT SONNY GRAY CHATTER AGAIN.

Since then? Nothing. Except this... and it has nothing to do with the Yanks and everything to do with the Astros who are rebuilding.  Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports tweeted this...
Now it's great to see a team so hungry to rebuild.  The Astros will be contenders as they pick up some pretty significant pieces recently.

The Yanks have Matt Holliday and Aroldis Chapman.  And the same damn rotation we've had.  That worries me.

If it comes to having to trade away some lower level prospects for say, a Sonny Gray, my God I wish they would do it.  But will they? Doubtful. Cashman is pretty insistent about having this rotation stay pretty intact come Spring Training....

Band-aids, duct tape and the crossing of fingers...

Good luck with that.
