Laura & Jorge Posada: You love Laura and you love Jorge...now love them on the cover of My Life Style magazine. They made the cover of the August / September issue and they may be the most gorgeous couple ever. In this issue, according to palantelatino.com, HERE, the Posadas give "an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of their Miami mansion for a revealing interviewing about career transition, strengthening the family and tips for self-empowerment. Laura as you may know has 2 TV shows out, 1 is a daily show called “Tu Vida Más Simple” (Life Made Simple.) The other is Manual de Superviviencia con Laura Posada” (Survival Guide with Laura Posada), both on the Utilísima Network. In this interview says of family, "'In this day and age, you can’t be selfish. You really need to have your priorities in order. There are things you want to accomplish as individuals and priorities that are important for the family,' explains Laura alongside Jorge in their family room. The Posadas believe that the essence of their relationship is communication and family which includes their two children – Jorge Luis, 12 and Paulina, 9." Not to toot our own horn, (but we will), be sure to read our piece on the Posadas from March titled WHY WE'LL ALWAYS BE TEAM POSADA. We are big on a strong family unit here at BYB.
Nate McLouth: Joel Sherman of the New York Post had a tweet out earlier this week about the fact that the Yankees offered Nate McLouth, the Orioles outfielder, a minor league deal when he was released by the Pirates. McLouth decided to sign with the Orioles because he thought he would have a better shot. Read HERE. OK. So he did. Look, All I have to say about this is, thanks for the info, but what's done is done and I'm not sure what knowing about this after the fact really does for me? You know what I mean?
A Shirt for a Good Cause: I'm not a fan of promoting other website's merchandise, but I will in this case, because it's for a good cause. Wander over to Bronx Goblin and buy a Bronx Goblin shirt. Part of the proceeds go toward ALS research, HERE. Much like what we have done here at Bleeding Yankee Blue with our shirts and giving money to High Socks for Hope, David & Erin Robertson's foundation HERE, Bronx Goblin will give money to their favorite charity for ALS research. Check it out.
Rafael Soriano: Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.com (HERE) says Rafael Soriano will opt-out at the end of this season. It must be true. Heyman writes: "There is a good chance Rafael Soriano will invoke his opt-out clause following a season in which he has been a savior for the Yankees, people familiar with the situation say." True, there's also a "good chance" he'll stay, or someone will throw a surprise party of him, or that he'll buy a pair of sneakers. Heyman goes on: "Soriano has a clause that allows him to walk away from the Yankees after this season rather than stay and make $14 million for 2013, and opting out would enable him to try to obtain a multi-year deal to close elsewhere or possibly lengthen his Yankees commitment. If he opts out, he receives a $1.5 million buyout, making the difference between staying and going $12.5 million." I love what RaSo has done for us this year, but it's obvious to any fan that if he can get a big contract as the lead closer somewhere else, he's going. Thanks Jon.
Reflecting: Many of us had high hopes this year when the season started. The Yankees have had to grind it out hard all season battling injury, we've been slumping and it's been alittle brutal lately. This morning, I clicked on the video I put together when the season started hoping to get a new found feeling of hope and passion for my New York Yankees, because, let's face it, all this inconsistancy is making me anxious. Enjoy this, maybe smile alittle. We need a big Yankee win today!!!
