BLUE JAYS BEAT YANKEES, GARCIA TO GET X-RAYS

BREAKING:  Garcia's X-Rays came back negative.

Earlier this afternoon down in Florida the Yankees lost to the Toronto Blue Jays but the real story is the condition of Yankee starter Freddy Garcia.  Garcia was making his third start for the Yankees this Spring and for three-plus innings allowed just one earned run and was rolling right along.  But in the fourth-inning Garcia took a come-backer off his right hand and immediately left the game and headed for Tampa to have X-rays taken.  As of this posting Garcia was unofficially diagnosed with a contusion on his right hand but BYB will keep you posted once we hear the official results of those X-rays.  Obviously, we are hoping for the best.

Once Garcia left the game the Blue Jays chalked up six more runs on their way to a 7-5 win over the Yankees.  Most of those runs were given up by Manny Banuelos who got lit up by the Blue Jays.  In just one inning of work Banuelos gave up four earned runs on three hits and walked two Blue Jays.  Needless to say, it wasn't Manny's day.

Offensively, a few of the Yankee hitters had nice days.  With the mix of seasoned veterans and farmhand talent Yankees banged out 12 hits, 5 of which were doubles.  Curtis Granderson went 2-3, including a pair of doubles and knocked in a run.  And MLB journeyman Dewayne Wise came into the game as a pinch runner and took over duties in CF.  He ended up going 2-2 at the plate with a pair of RBI's.

The Yankees will take on the Washington Nationals tomorrow at 1:05pm(EST).
