2 MINOR LEAGUE DEALS & THE YANKEES
This isn't a big, big story, but it's a good news item and let's be honest, there's not much Yankee news going on right about you.
The Yankees made 2 minor league deals. YES Network has both stories:
Domingo German: "Yankees announced Friday that they have re-signed RHP Domingo German to a minor-league contract for 2016. German, 23, was the third player acquired in last winter's deal with Miami that brought Nathan Eovaldi and Garrett Jones to the Bronx, but he missed all of 2015 after undergoing Tommy John surgery... Originally an international free agent signing by the Marlins, German was 20-10 with a 2.33 ERA and six saves in 77 games (44 starts). He last pitched in 2014 with Class-A Greensboro, going 9-3 with a 2.48 ERA in 25 starts, and he pitched a scoreless inning for the World Team in that summer's Futures Game."
Diego Moreno: "The New York Yankees have re-signed RHP Diego Moreno to a minor-league contract, per the latest batch of minor-league transactions reported by Baseball America's Matt Eddy.
Moreno, 28, was originally acquired in the deal that sent A.J. Burnett to Pittsburgh in February 2012. He was 3-0 with a 2.18 ERA in 26 games (four starts) at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last season and made his major-league debut in June, going 1-0 with a 5.23 ERA in 10 1/3 MLB innings."
And there you have it. More arms and that't not a bad thing.
