CASHMAN IS SHOPPING IN THE WRONG AISLE AGAIN

Now the latest rumor is the Yankees are interested in bringing back Clay Holmes.

Seriously... what the hell is this front office doing?

Holmes is coming back from a fractured right fibula. Yes, before the injury he was outstanding, posting a 2.39 ERA over nine starts, and he's looked good in rehab. According to The Athletic, the Yankees were among several teams scouting his latest outing as trade rumors continue to swirl.

But here's what's funny. When Holmes wore pinstripes, Yankees fans couldn't wait to get rid of him. Every blown save turned into another reason to bury the guy. Social media was relentless, and many fans acted like he was the biggest problem on the roster, pretty much how we are treating Anthony Volpe now. Now suddenly bringing Holmes back is supposed to excite everyone?

Why?

More importantly, why is this what the Yankees' front office is chasing?  The Yankees need to learn, fans want stars and championships, not BS and hope.

This team doesn't need another reunion or another player coming off a significant injury. It needs impact players—guys who immediately make this lineup and roster better.

Brian Cashman keeps treating the trade deadline like it's about plugging holes instead of landing difference-makers. That's exactly why this team continues to come up short.

Stop settling.

Stop looking backward.

Build a championship roster and play the right freaking guys for once.
