Yea Harrison Bader gets hurt a lot, but I'll take that if when he returns, he's lights out. And he is. That bat of his? Dynamic. His run production? Amazing. Say what you will about "Broken down Bader" all you want.... I call him Bader Big... 'cause he is when he needs to be.
The New York Post writes:
"Fireworks night started early in The Bronx on Monday night, as Harrison Bader hit a three-run, go-ahead homer in the bottom of the eighth inning to spark the Yankees’ 6-3 win over Baltimore...“The Bronx showed up with energy,’’ Bader said of the sellout crowd of 46,015."
Being clutch like he is, there is a lot of talk about whether or not the Yankees should extend him after this season. There is no question it has to happen! It would be a mistake if they do not. I mean, why give up Jordan Montgomery if you're only gonna have Bader for a year and a half? That would be insane.
In a recent article by Sports Illustrated they wrote about Bader and the Yankees relationship.
"...with his contract expiring after the season ends, the Yankees could potentially give Bader a long-term extension.
"I absolutely love it here," Bader recently told Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media for NJ.com. "Are you kidding me? It’s a blessing every day. It’s an iconic jersey. It’s so much bigger than me. It’s amazing."
Bader went on to say he loves playing for the Yankees so much that he'd "do this s--- for free."
And on that note, there's no question that sooner rather than later, both parties need to come to the table and hammer this contract out. I see big things for Bader in a Yankees future. No question about it.
Big moment and a big win for the Yankees and Bader... keep it going.
