Being in Florida, the COVID capital of the world right now, there's no question that everyone has it or had it at some point. Florida is one of those places that everyone visits, so... if they didn't have a high COVID rate in the spring, of course they have it now because everyone is vacationing there is bringing it down there.
Now with the Delta variant it makes it worse. But we're Americans... we're figuring it out.
And so is the MLB, allowing teams to get around this year. With that, the Yankees were down in Miami and next thing you know, Gerrit Cole has COVID, as being reported. CBS 2 writes:
" Yankees ace Gerrit Cole has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not make his scheduled start Tuesday, the latest virus setback for the team.New York manager Aaron Boone made the announcement after Monday night’s 7-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles. He said he was told of the positive test in the second inning.
“As of now he is the only one,” Boone said."
Right... as of now yes, but everyone on Twitter remembers this video clip...
That's Cole with Aaron Judge, Derek Jeter and Giancarlo Stanton. I mean... should we be worried? Will he infect new guys like Joey Gallo and Anthony Rizzo? Will Jeter get it?Derek Jeter catching up with Aaron Judge, Gerrit Cole and Giancarlo Stanton. pic.twitter.com/s5RpdNjFYI

Right now Cole will not pitch his scheduled start. Right now we wait to see who else gets COVID. Right now? Right now I'm sick of this pandemic.
