Noah Syndergaard would be that type of piece for the Yankees...yes, key to the castle, the missing link to the chain and according to Mets Skipper Mickey Callaway, MLB Network should not go to sleep while Mets new General Manager Brodie Van Wagenen is shopping at the Winter Meetings. According to Callaway as he appeared on MLB Network's coverage of the Meetings, something could happen that would involve Noah Syndergaard being traded to a contending team. This team is hopefully the Yankees.
As we reported yesterday by way of our skipper, Robert Casey in THIS SYNDERGAARD BLOCKBUSTER HINGES ON ANDUJAR, "This rumor has been going on for nearly 18 hours now and there hasn't been movement other than to say that the Mets like JT Realmuto, the Yankees apparently want Noah Syndergaard and the Yanks are willing to supply someone for one of those 2 teams... not to mention there will be other moving parts as well."

Another interesting nugget here is if we do consider trading Miggy, we would have a hole at third which could easily be filled by newly released Toronto Blue Jay infielder Troy Tulowitzki. "Tulowitzki, 34, has two years and $38 million remaining on his contract -- $20 million for next year, $14 million for 2020 and a $4 million buyout of the 2021 team option -- but has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons," reported ESPN yesterday. Not the first time Tulowitzki has been knocking on the Yankees' door and if we could trade for elite pitcher by dealing Andujar, okay then.

What an early Christmas present Syndergaard could fill for Yankees fans across the globe. According to the Post, "When the Yankees heard he could be available, Brian Cashman reached out to Van Wagenen to inquire. If nothing else, the positive pre-existing relationship between the two GMs dating to Van Wagenen’s time as an agent has made the tenor between the teams better. The Yankees have been left with the impression that Van Wagenen is authorized to do what he believes is right for the Mets — even deal significantly with the Yankees."

Callaway seemed unfazed by the prospect of losing Syndergaard stating that his team will continue to find a way to win. That and the fact that Callaway suggested that the guys stay in their suits overnight makes me feel like we have something really going here. Syndergaard in Yankees pinstripes before Christmas? Yep, he'd be that type of piece for the Yankees- the victory parade type. Go get 'em Cash!
