GOOD NEWS FOR GLEYBER TORRES & US FANS

A small, yet smart and important nugget for everyone who wants to see Gleyber Torres in the Bigs... it's coming, just not yet.

As you all know, he's starting the season in Trenton with the Thunder, but he'll be getting plenty of work at second base and short and 3rd, 3 spots the Yankees will soon be looking for help. YES Network's Lou DiPietro writes:

"Thunder manager Bobby Mitchell announced during Trenton's media day Tuesday that Torres will play second base, third base, and shortstop on rotation this season..."

Now I believe we will see Torres up at some point this season, be it a short spirt in the summer, but definitely in September call ups. I think the Yanks like Starlin Castro, but don't love him. I think they don't have much a use for Chase Headley at third, and when it comes to Didi Gregorius. Well, I think we all know his days are numbered if Gleyber has a sensational year. It's not Didi's fault, it's bad timing.

The Yanks are being smart starting Torres in AA. But it's my guess he'll zip through the minors... that's just me speculating.

Carry on
