THE LOSING BUG HITS THE BRONX!
You know what is a good way to lose a game? Only get 3 hits, with no runs, in 28 at bats. Yea, I'm a little annoyed. But don't worry guys, I won't start on a tirade. Not yet anyway.
Masahiro Tanaka was the starting pitcher for this game. Tanaka came into this game with a 3.84 ERA, with an 8 and 4 record. In the first inning, Josh Donaldson hits a home run on a fly ball to right center field. In the 4th, Jose Bautista comes in to hit a homer on a fly to left field. Despite those two runs, Tanaka did a good job at keeping the Blue Jays from scoring.
Our bats, unfortunately, did not come to life. In 28 at bats, they only got 3 hits with no runs. Honestly, that's exact opposite of what you have to do to win games. They had a total of 9 strike outs, with 4 of them coming from Chase Headley.
With today's game, the Yankees are officially on a 3 game losing streak. Of course this means that the Blue Jays are only a game and a half back. The same Blue Jays that just beat us in this three game series.
To their credit, the Blue Jays are a decent team, and they have been a serious threat in the AL East. The Yankees need to get their bats moving to hold onto their first place position. The AL East is not the division to fall asleep in.
Final: Blue Jays 2 - Yankees 0
