FALLING SHORT

There was a ton of build up at the end of tonight's game.  Then... nothing. Can't win them all they always say.  Well, the Yanks gave a good fight, plus Big Joe had a few things to say...

Ivan Nova started for New York. He went 5 innings, he gave up 6 hits and 3 runs.  He struck out 4 and for the most part, he and the rest of the Yankee pen kept us in the game. The only thing we needed to do was score runs tonight.  Well, it wasn't easy.

The Yankees were 1-7 with runners in scoring position.  We left 6 on base.  We only had 5 hits... and we scored 1 run in the 4th, on a home run by Alex Rodriguez.  We wouldn't score again until the 9th, but first some fireworks.   When Brian McCann struck out on a lousy call, he had some words with tonight's home plate umpire... and then Jor Girardi came out, and turned on the theatrics, all fired up and next thing you know, he got booted.

Hey, give Joe credit... he was trying to get his team fired up with just 2 outs left in the game.  It worked. Carlos Beltran then knocked in a run.

But with 2 outs left in the game, Didi Gregorius flied out with men on base. Ball game over... Indians win.

A lot of excitement at the end... but we just didn't have it tonight.  Hopefully tomorrow and then, on Jorge Posada Day, the Yankees grind one out for old times sake.  We shall see.

Final: Indians 3 - Yankees 2
