Interesting nugget. The Yankees have just acquired an infielder from the Houston Astros. His name is Gregorio Petit. This comes from someone called Jose de Jesus Ortiz... or something:
The Astros will get a player to be named or cash from the Yankees for Gregorio Petit, who had been reassigned to minor league camp earlier.
— Jose de Jesus Ortiz (@OrtizKicks) April 2, 2015
He's got that blue circle with the white check, so he must be important. I apologize if the name doesn't ring a bell. I checked with other sources too. CBS Houston has it as well as Hardball Talk. I actually thought it was an April Fools joke. Anyway, here's CBS:"With rosters getting finalized, the Astros traded Gregorio Petit to the Yankees on Wednesday night.
In return, Houston will receive a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Last season, Petit played in 37 games with the Astros after spending most of the year at Triple-A. In that time, the infielder hit .278 with 14 runs, two homers, and nine RBI."
There you have it.
