Sean Forman at Baseball-Reference.com does it again! It isn't enough that the baseball world goes to BaseballReference.com already. Now apparently while you're on a player's page, depending on what the hair policy for that team is, you can design the player's face with facial hair. It's times like this that you realize just how boring the clean cut image is when it comes to the New York Yankees.
When you go to Baseball Reference these days, underneath the players head, there are 3 options you can use to 'design' the players picture. We'll use Mickey Mantle as an example:
So now check him out:
Just wanted to bring it to everyone's attention. Hey Sean, you know what I'd love to see, How about hats? When a player gets traded, have an option to change their cap. Like Chase Headley for instance...
He's a Yankee now. Could be fun... and yup, I'm making stupid pitches to a genius... I apologize.
Anyway. I have always appreciated Sean Forman and I love Baseball-Reference.com. They are chock full of everything... and this is just another fun thing they offer. Keep up the great work over there guys!
