IT'S THE CHOPPING BLOCK FOR ALFONSO SORIANO
We all knew it was coming... or at least Suzie Pinstripe of BYB did. Here's Suzie's honest assessment of Alfonso Soriano just a week ago...
"...let’s shuffle. Alfonso Soriano needs to go to Triple-A or be released. Love him, but it is time to go. Now, I am not going to long for him to come back like the Shakespearian quote above eludes, instead I think he is taking up valuable space on our team. We need a bigger bat."
That was from her piece: THE YANKEES & SHAKESPEARE: MORE ALIKE THAN YOU THINK.
And as she'd probably say today in her best "Shakespeare"... A welcome that belongs to you. We here at BYB have our finger is on the pulse, whether you think it is or not. Boom!
News broke today that veteran Alfonso Soriano has been designated for assignment. According CBSSports.com, "The Yankees have designated outfielder Alfonso Soriano for assignment, manager Joe Girardi announced. The team now has 10 days to trade, release or waive him."
And there you have it. First, the Yankees trade Vidal Nuno to the Diamondbacks for Brandon McCarthy... now Alfonso Soriano is in purgatory the next 10 days.
Things are happening in Yankeeland ladies and gentlemen, whether you like it or not... what will come next? Be afraid... no job is safe right now.
