YANKEE REACT TO CANO'S MAD DASH

The headline that YESNetwork.com attached to this video below is deceiving because it is literally coming from 1 guy, Brian Cashman but the message is still the same. I'm paraphrasing but this is what Cano's former team will say over the next few days...

"Cano's a good player. Cano did what was right for him. We need to move on and improve as the Yankees."

In other words, no one died, a player just moved on.  Here is the video put out by YESNetwork.com titled, Team's Reaction on Robinson Cano Leaving the Yankee:

There were others in case you haven't been reading anything lately.  Don't forget the CC Sabathia had a great soundbite from Andy McCullough of the Star Ledger:

Read  SABATHIA HAD A HUNCH ABOUT ROBINSON CANO

Sabathia said:  "Just a player like that, putting on the pinstripes, and being able to play your whole career in New York means something – to me, obviously... It didn’t mean that much to him."

David Robertson is quoted in the New York Daily News saying: "It stinks he’s going to be in Seattle. He’s going to be missed, that’s for sure... Robbie is going to do what he wants to do … We would have liked to have him back in New York, but that’s just the business of the game so he went with it.”

Other than these 3 soundbites from official members of the New York Yankees, it's been silent. The fans are furious.  Hey, I'm over it.  I spoke my piece and I could tell that Cano was destroying his reputation.  It would have almost made no sense for him to come back to the Bronx after putting out a $300 million, 10 year request.  He left, whatever.

Some fams like this one above has made his statement.  Clearly he's turned on Robbie.

But there's one thing I learned through all of this.  Us fans take it way much harder than the guy putting on the uniform.  Sure, there are guys like Sabathia, Derek Jeter and David Robertson that we know will always be New York Yankees. They fit the mold, they know what pride and respect for the uniform and the fans and they respect the game.  There are others, like Cano, that don't care about that in my opinion.  They know there will always be fans, so why not make more money in the process?

Whatever the case, it's done for me. Yes, we'll continue to bring you opinions and reports about Cano and his new Seattle crew... but we're trying to move on... again, no one died.
