DON'T FORGET TO REGISTER FOR THE RUNYON 5K RUN

Just a quick note for anyone interested in running in the Runyon 5k Run at Yankee Stadium which takes place on August 18th. If you want to do early registration, which is recommended, the deadline is June 30th!

Do you want to be one of those who takes a moment out of their busy schedule to make a difference? Go to www.damonrunyon.org/yankeestadium. (Participants are responsible for a $40 registration fee and a $60 fundraising minimum. On July 1, the registration fee increases to $50.)

We at Bleeding Yankee Blue have interviewed some of the Yankees who were special starters for the event in year's past. We love getting the word out about the Runyon 5K Run which is for Cancer Research.  When we asked Roy White about why he wanted to be part of the Runyon 5k run back in 2011, this is what he said:

"It is a great cause because everyone has someone close to them who has been affected. It is a great event they put on at Yankee Stadium so it was a win, win and a no brainer." (Full Roy White interview HERE)

Mickey Rivers said this last year when he and Ron Blomberg co-started the event:

 "We always try to support cancer research. Everyone has a sister or a brother or mother affected by it. If these scientists can find a little better solution, people can live a lot longer." (Full Rivers interview HERE.)
