BRIGHT SPOT FOR MARK TEIXEIRA

CBSSports.com is reporting that when the MRI was checked, there was no new tear on Mark Teixeira's wrist.  There was only inflammation.  They write HERE,
"The first baseman received a cortisone shot and will be reevaluated in a few days."
So, what does that mean? It means a few things. No DL for Tex, just some rest.  It means Lyle Overbay will get more playing time and it means that when Mark is better, he goes back in the lineup.

If I'm the Yankees, I would seriously consider rotating Overbay and Tex and slowly work Tex back.  The dude always has wrist issues and there is no reason to rush him into the lineup now, especially if they don't have to.  Sure, by the All-Star break I would strongly consider having him playing everyday... but not now... baby steps.
