BYB BREAKING NEWS: YANKS TO NATS, NO DEAL FOR BRETT GARDNER

According to Pete Kerzel of MASNSports.com the Yankees turned down the Nationals' attempt to trade for Brett Gardner.  The Nationals are searching for a player who can lead off and play center field.  No word on who the Nationals were offering up for Gardy.

Other than that not much Yankee news to report on from the Winter Meetings in Dallas.  Although, I think someone to keep an eye on is Gio Gonzalez.  Sounds like the A's asked for Yankees top prospects Jesus Montero and, either Manny Banuelos or Dellin Betances for Gonzalez and Cashman, thankfully, said no.  But I would not close the door on that trade from happening just yet.  Look, if you read Bleeding Yankee Blue then you know how much we have pushed to get Gonzalez in a Yankee uniform.  I mean BYB practically started the Gonzalez-in-the-Bronx campaign. Casey first wrote about trading for Gonazlez back in October in his piece, "WOULD YOU TRADE FOR GIO GONZALEZ?"  You can READ IT HERE.  But, we don't think the Yankees should give away our entire farm system for the guy.  I think if the A's can come down to earth just a little we may see  Gonzalez in pinstripes before long.

Stay tuned to BYB for all the latest Yankee news...
