RED SOX DFA HANLEY RAMIREZ

Photo: Getty Images
He's a good player.  He still has it, he's just slowed down... and the Red Sox know it. And so, they designated Hanley Ramirez for assignment.  The Boston Globe tweeted this:

Now the reason is to make room for Dustin Pedroia, but it's gotta be slightly a shock for Hanley, a veteran. Who knows... maybe he saw it coming.  The Globe writes:

"The Red Sox are responsible for more than $15 million remaining on Ramirez’s salary through the duration of this season. They will have seven days to trade or release him. "

Some team will sign this guy and I will bet he just gets hot again.  Sometimes the same routine kills a player.  Maybe that's what happened to Ramirez in Boston.

At any rate... I'm a Dustin fan, so this is just fine by me.

I wonder what fellow #BYBHub blog Section 36 thinks about this? They're a Red Sox fan site, and a great one at that.

YANKEE CLICK MACHINE!

Strike up the band! We beat Dallas Keuchel.
I needed to tweet that... I was so psyched tonight!

Photo: Getty Images
When everything clicks, it's pretty incredible to be a Yankee fan. I saw a team tonight that truly loves playing with each other, and loves playing in the Bronx!   Seeing Chase Headley break out of his slump tonight was wild!

Watching Sanchez , Bird and Judge mature before our eyes is true magic.   And then there was Masahiro Tanaka...

What can I say? Tanaka was dominant. He's the Tanaka the Yankees and Yankee fans have been waiting for since we signed him.  He's unstoppable. He's a monster.
He is truly confident and without fear.  Combine that with that bullpen and our amazing offense lately and that is a recipe for greatness.

I am telling you this.  I was excited in 2009... but right now... I'M VERY EXCITED.

Winning 3 in a row was something I wasn't sure was capable when we left Houston a few days ago.  Now we're up 3 games to 2 and we're headed back to Houston with our best pitcher in Luis Severino.

It won't be easy in Game 6.  Playing against Justin Verlander is no easy task.  Last outing against us he was great.  AND... we were in Houston.  Keep that in mind... while we have momentum, and believe me... we have it, Verlander has Houston and those fans are solid.

Photo: Getty Images
But we can do it, we're the Yankees.

I know we can... I believe we can.  It's some of the best baseball I have seen this team play all year long.  They have bonded... they like each other. Hell... I think one of the big parts of this team is just having Todd Frazier around to keep the energy alive!  I venture to say I think I like him around more than I did Nick Swisher... and I know, I will get crucified for that, but there is something about Frazier that is a spark like nothing I've seen in that Yankee clubhouse in a long time.

Photo: Getty Images
He is loved by his teammates... and he loves being a New York Yankee and all it brings with it.  And I believe he's a big part of the clicking of the New York Yankees right now. He showed up... the Yankees started picking up the pace.  Now we're in the playoffs... one game away from the World Series... and there's confidence and a liveliness everywhere.

We are the Yankee Click Machine right now.  We can do this folks. Names like Judge. Sanchez. Sabathia. Severino. DRob. Kahnle. Gardner....

Didi. Chapman. Tanaka. and yes... Frazier.

We are the New York Yankees... I can't wait for Game 6.

I leave you with 3 great fans... and 3 fun nuggets to keep you entertained...

The first comes from one of our BYB Hub sites... Krusty Sox Sports... bashing the most horrible anti-Yankee broadcaster out there... Joe Buck. Read Listen to how depressed Joe Buck is after Masahiro Tanaka strikes out a hitter to get out of a jam.
Haha.

The next nugget comes from @CANiPETTITTE who dresses her dog in #BYB for good luck.
Damn I love this so much!

And finally, this is an email I got from my brother from another mother...

Yankee and BYB fanatic... from Australia, Joey Moses...

"The last time we went undefeated at home in the playoffs, we won the World Series. Let's bring the trophy home. One more win! #BleedingYankeeBlue"

Nailed it, brother!

BOSTON'S DESPERATION

Now I'm not about to slam the Boston Red Sox for the move they made, but I am surprised that the Sox made it.  Don't know what I mean? Check this out.

Yesterday we got word that the Sox traded for Craig Kimbrel.  In return, the Sox gave up 4 prospects. According to ESPN, "Kimbrel, who saved 39 games for the Padres this season, spent the first five years of his career with the Atlanta Braves before they traded him to San Diego on the eve of the 2015 regular season. The Red Sox assumed $25 million remaining on Kimbrel's contract but have him under control for up to three more seasons....The Padres received outfielder Manuel Margot, infielders Javier Guerra and Carlos Asuaje, and left-hander Logan Allen.

(In Photo: Manuel Margot)
Only Asuaje and Margot made it as high as Double-A last season."

Now look, I don't know much about those prospects, but being retrained as a Yankee fan and not giving up the farm like we have recently and actually watching our prospects blossom, I was just surprised the Sox give up so much.  Maybe it's a good idea, especially because the Sox haven't been too good lately, but obviously new GM Dave Dombrowski want's to make a big splash.

And so I ask fellow BYB Hub charter member, Section 36.  Is this is a good move?  I mean yes, Kimbrel is a great player, I'd love him on the Yankees, but is it worth it giving up you farm system?

Respond soon, we're looking forward to it.

BYB HUB: YOUR ONLY SPOT FOR BASEBALL NEWS

You could pretty much go anywhere for baseball news.  Here's the question though; have you checked out the BYB Hub yet?  You should. I mean you REALLY SHOULD!

Look, when Bleeding Yankee Blue began, I put up an ugly version of this thing and ran with it.  Today, four years later, people could still make an argument that it's ugly. I don't care about that crap. Here's what I do care about, I have a readership now, a large readership and it's made up of some of the smartest readers around. It's regular people. It's New York Yankees, their wives, celebrities and you know what? It's pretty nice.

Here's what I like about what we have with our readership. Your opinions are different. Sure, some agree and disagree, and rarely do we get into a 'real nasty' spat, even if we DO disagree. That's because we're friends... some of us are even family.  We've made that bond together. I'm blessed because of that.

My writers are interesting people with busy jobs and activities. Some are parents. They are all hard workers holding down crazy schedules and we all love baseball and the New York Yankees.  We also all love to write for you and we find the time. That counts for something.  It's an outlet and it's become one of the most popular  "go to" places on the web when you just need to sit back, sip your coffee and chat with family on a Saturday morning about the New York Yankees.  We love you all and we appreciate the kind banter and ball busting.

There's nothing better than to see you all wearing our clothes... proud, Tweeting on Twitter or on Facebook.  Luckily for us, we even have celebrities doing the same and we appreciate it very much.

Back in October, I started the BYB Hub.  It's a place where new and semi-established writers and baseball blogs could put their content up to get alittle more exposure and traction. It was Free and I figured it would be a way to help out the newbies.  While we're still building the concept, the sites we have collected at the BYB Hub are very good. In fact, I'd venture to say that some of us are better than what's already been out there for years.  That's because our views are different, our ideas are better and in some regards... our concept is smarter than some of the well established sites.  The reason is simple... the others became complacent... the guys on the BYB Hub are hungry.  They know that there's room out there for them and hell... so do I and so I started the Hub, a place where you can literally have "1 stop shopping".

(Screenshot of the BYB Hub)
You can click on the Hub HERE, you can run down the list of "Pros", "Rookies" and "Prospects" and read everything for that day. Just read away. Plus, it will change constantly as we are adding new content on our sites.
(Screenshot of the BYB Hub)
Currently, we have 20 baseball sites on the Hub, ranging from Yankees info, to Red Sox and Oakland A's and just plain baseball. But here's the thing... if you are a writers, and new to this blog thing and want to get read, find me on Twitter or Facebook and let me know. We'll put you on it!

(Screenshot of the BYB Hub)
And if you're a reader and you want new and interesting things to read... come to the BYB Hub.  We will take the baseball conversation to the next level.  Why? Well... the answer is simple... we're not like the others... we have the drive of a Little Leaguer given alittle confidence by his coach. We're hungry... we're determined... we're the BYB Hub.

WHAT THE HELL'S THE BYB HUB?

Many of you have noticed a box on Bleeding Yankee Blue that says BYB Hub.  Many are confused.  A nice woman who’s been reading us since the beginning actually sent me an email panicking,

“What are you doing? Are you getting rid of Bleeding Yankee Blue? Are you trying to kill me???”

Well, I’m flattered, and I can say this to you with full confidence… I will not kill you, and no, we’re not dissolving BYB.

I had a dream about a month ago.  It’s the first time I ever got up and jotted something down so I remembered it in the morning. I wasn’t some brilliant idea, but it was a neat idea I knew could resonate with my readers and it would definitely be used a tool for new baseball bloggers.

I was thinking about all the hard work many of you new bloggers are putting into your sites and you’re just not getting read. Mainly because no one knows about you.  Well, What the BYB Hub is, is a place where people can go to discover new Yankees and baseball sites and learn about you and your work. In other words, on your own, people may never find you, or at least, maybe not right away.  If we are all together as a team, on one platform, there’s a better shot.  The BYB Hub is one stop shopping for Baseball readers.

Look, when BYB, Greedy Pinstripes and Section 36 started our sites, there wasn’t a place to go to find us.
We stayed up late many nights trying to get our site some eyes on it, and trust me, it was hard as hell.  These days  though, we have alittle clout, and when I reached out to those sites and asked them to join me on this free site and fun venture, they didn’t hesitate.

Now I know what you're thinking, and no I'm not trying to capitalize on you. Sure, I’m the founder of BYB and the BYB Hub, but the Hub is not a pay site and I won’t make a dime. What I will do is promote your website for free.  Over time, we’ll put ads on the BYB Hub. Those ads will promote the blogs on the Hub only. Just another way to get the word out, “We’re new baseball blogs, we want you to check us out as the alternative.” Hey, that’s what BYB did. It’s what Greedy Pinstripes andSection 36 did, but we did it individually.  The Hub presents us all to the reader, it's a package, strength in numbers.

If you’re a new blogger and want some exposure and you write about baseball, the Yankees or any baseball team, we want you!  Reach out to me on Twitter or Send me a message on Facebook.  Do NOT email me about the Hub. I won't respond.  We’ll get your blog on our site right away.  The only thing we ask in return is that you place our BYB Hub graphic on your page linking to the Hub.  This way there is a give and take, a cross promotion if you will.    We will place your site in one of 3 section; The Pros if you're well on your way,  the Rookies, if you are new but "not quite there", and the Prospects, meaning, you're brand new, but you have the fever for the fight of baseball blogging.   As you gain popularity, you’ll move up the ranks.

Hey, it's an idea, it's an alternative and it just might work if we work together.

It's the BYB Hub, "Start as the underdog. End as a champion."
