THE YANKEES SIGNED THIS KID, AND WE'LL SHARE VIDEO OF HIM

The New York Yankees are at it again, flexing their offseason muscles like a gym rat who skips leg day but never skips talent acquisition. This time, they're blending youth and promise into their roster stew, adding 17-year-old Dominican shortstop Stiven Romans to the mix. The kid inked a deal with the Yanks for a cool $1,650,000—not bad for a teenager who probably still has trouble renting a car.

Here’s where things get interesting: Romans wasn’t even on MLB's Top 50 International Prospects list in September. That’s right, the list snubbed him harder than a bouncer eyeing your sneakers at a Manhattan club. But the Yankees? They’re built different. They saw the potential hiding in plain sight and swooped in like a hawk on a pigeon. Now look, they are not only right when it comes to these signings, but they're taking a chance on this kid.

Credit to insider Francys Romero for spilling the details. Turns out the Yankees dipped into funds originally earmarked for Japanese pitching phenom Roki Sasaki—a pursuit that didn’t pan out—redirecting their international signing budget to secure Romans.

Romans, considered one of the hotter names expected to sign this year, now gets his shot at developing under the bright lights of the Bronx. He’s the future. He’s potential personified. And yes, he’s 17, so no, he can’t buy a drink to celebrate—yet.

The Yankees’ offseason has been a whirlwind of moves, upgrades, and fresh faces. It’s like spring cleaning, but for a roster. Honestly, it’s refreshing. Exciting, even. But you know what would really make this winter magical?

Cody Bellinger.

Cashman, if you’re reading this—make it happen. Pretty please. With pinstripes on top.
