TRADE BETWEEN YANKS & CUBS BRINGS HOT RIGHTY ARM

The Yankees made a move to bolster their bullpen and it involved a name that the Yankees are familiar with in their history.  Leiter.

Empire Sports Media writes:

"The New York Yankees have completed a trade with the Chicago Cubs according to Jeff Passan, and it involved right-handed reliever Mark Leiter Jr. While his 4.21 ERA isn’t pretty, the 33-year-old right-hander is under control for two more seasons after this one...

He’s spent most of his Major League career with the Chicago Cubs, where he’s enjoyed plenty of success in late-game situations.

In return, the Yankees are dealing RHP Jack Neely and infielder Benjamin Cowles..."

Mark Leiter Jr. is the son of Mark Leiter who played for the Yankees 1 year... 1990.  And of course, his brother Al was also there.  Both Leiter Bros had solid careers in the MLB.  Now let's see how the next generation will do.

Welcome to the Yanks, Mark!
