DONALDSON DOES WHATEVER IT TAKES

We can bash Josh Donaldson on his hitting. There's no doubt, he's been lousy and probably at the end of his career.  But there is no question he still has a true passion for the game.  In short, yesterday he proved that he's still a true competitor and willing to do whatever is needed.  In other words, he's not afraid of anything. You gotta give him that.

Donaldson didn't disappoint, putting up a 1-2-3 inning to keep the Yankees' deficit right where it was... he was able to hold his own, ending the inning on an 85 MPH cutter that had a decent amount of movement in the strike zone.

The appearance was Donaldson's first on the mound as a pro, but he has previous experience taking the mound.

He was a two-way player in high school, where he was named the Alabama Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior playing both shortstop and pitcher."

For that alone, I let this guy hang around alittle longer.  By the way, the Yanks lost Game 1 to the Cards, won Game 2.
