CLASS ACT SEAN HARD CHOOSES SCHOOL BEFORE YANKEES

If there were ever a player that can match Shohei Ohtani as both a pitcher and a hitter in the Major Leagues, it would be Sean Hard.  We as American baseball players do NOT get the luxury of doing both like Ohtani, and that bothers me. But if they allowed it... this is the kid that would succeed.  For now however, Sean Hard, the 20th round, 603rd pick of the New York Yankees has chose Boston College before anything in the Major Leagues. Smart kid.

Hard was a huge part of St. Joseph's winning season this year.  NJ.com writes:

"Drafted as a pitcher, the right-hander was rock solid in his final high school season. His fastball sits in the low-to-mid 90s, with some tail and sink, and Hard was known as someone who would simply pound the zone. He tossed a one-hitter against Don Bosco Prep in the North Jersey, Non-Public A semifinals.

The 6-foot-5, 200-pounder went 8-0 with 87 strikeouts and 14 walks in 50 2/3 innings. He gave up just 29 hits and three runs - two earned - en route to a 0.28 ERA as St Joseph won the Non-Public A state championship and finished No. 1 in the NJ.com Final Top 50 state rankings.

A first team All-State selection as a first baseman, Hard hit .419 with eight doubles, two triples and six home runs. He also collected 32 RBIs and 26 runs scored."

For now, the kid goes to Boston for an education and hopefully dominates at BC.  What comes next is anyone's guess... but I'm hoping this kid is a success. As my son says... he's a great kid.

Congrats Sean and good luck to you.
