So much chatter on Twitter about Yankees first baseman Luke Voit, looking as buff and athletic as ever. "He definitely needs to get some side work in the offseason as a superhero on a Netflix original based on a comic I’ve never heard of," said @Kradley. "Geez, if he could use that calf to hit a fastball, it’s leaving the park every time!," said @SandraDale7. Voit is truly showing who's boss and who wants to win the starting role at first base in 2020.

"Gerrit Cole may have Luke Voit’s number, literally, but the slugger is making the Yankees’ new ace work for it. Voit agreed to give Cole his No. 45 jersey last winter, after Cole signed a record-setting contract with the Bombers. But now, having to face him during this unusual spring training reboot, Voit is battling Cole in live batting practice and getting advice," reported The Daily News. Cole has been throwing terrific in the intra squad games but Voit is certainly giving him a run for his money.

“Cole kept saying to me, he’s like, man, it took me like 15 pitches to finally get me off the slider. His feedback is good. I mean, that guy looked like he was you know, in midseason form already,” Voit said according to the News.
Good feedback on Voit and certainly from the looks of things, he did his workouts in the extended off season. Here's hoping he stays healthy and yes, that he can hit that fast ball.
