WE JUST LOST OUT ON JEAN SEGURA

A few weeks ago when the Yankees got James Paxton from the Mariners... there's was a follow-up story that suggested the Yanks almost had a shot at SS Jean Segura too.  It would have made a ton of sense. Quite simply, with Didi Gregorius hurt and on the mend from Tommy John, a nice solid shortstop to hold Didi's spot would have been perfect.

But that story quickly went away.  I however was hoping it would have still happened... some way.  Well... that appears to be gone now.  Segura has been traded to the Phillies... in principal says Bob Nightengale…

The Seattle #Mariners and Philadelphia #Phillies have agreed in principal to a trade that will send Jean Segura to the Phillies for shortstop J.P. Crawford that involved other players as well. The deal will be announced Monday. @Ken_Rosenthal first that they were in serious talks

Too bad for us.  Nice upgrade for the Phillies. Not only that... now it looks like the Phils will try to sign Manny Machado for big money.  Holy Crap.

We shall see.
