The Mets are mad at the Yankees because the Yankees didn't make a few deals at the trade deadline with the Yankees... and I don't get any of it.
The first one has to do with the Yankees and them being close to getting
Neil Walker from the Mets on July 31st. But the Yanks claim to have been worried about the medical records of Walker, and so, they nixed the deal.

"The Yankees and Mets had finalized a deal on July 31, according to sources, that would have sent Walker to The Bronx. But the deal crumbled, with the Yankees citing Walker’s medicals as an issue. At the time the Yankees were close to acquiring Sonny Gray from Oakland, and Mets officials believe their crosstown rival simply wanted to back out from the Walker trade and used the player’s medical records as their excuse."
And Neil Walker has now come forward...
"I was healthy and I still am healthy...” says Walker.
The other has to do with
Jay Bruce.

"It’s unclear whom the Yankees offered for Bruce, but Alderson wasn’t impressed enough with the proposal to make a trade."
Bruce was then traded to the Indians.
And these are my thoughts... who cares. Teams can try and sign or pull out of whatever deal they want. Any team can. Look, maybe the Yanks are lying about Walker's medicals. Maybe the Yankees didn't want to overdue who they gave away from Bruce. Maybe they decided they didn't want to make the deal in the 11th hour.

Maybe there was a name attached to the Mets deal that could have hindered the
Gray deal. Whatever it is, the Mets should worry about getting out of 3rd place and being 16 games back. This Walker or Bruce deal was NOT going to change that. They need to stop bitching... all of them.
For now, it is what it is. We need to move on.
