STAYING RED HOT!

There are no headlines about players being angry or missing practice in Yankeeland... just teamwork and wins. You want clubhouse chaos?  Leave that to the Mets and big fat Matt Harvey. (Read MATT HARVEY & THE NEW YORK MESS.)

The Yankees are having a run, huh?

Another win last night, and 6 in a row.

Masahiro Tanaka is 5-1 folks.  Last night, the whole team was exhausted from the night before, but they did something important... they kept grinding.  Tanaka went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs, striking out 6.

Mark Sheldon and John Fay of MLB.com write of Gary Sanchez:

"MOMENTS THAT MATTERED

Sanchez gets it started: Sanchez reached base five times in the game, collecting three hits and one walk around a hit-by-pitch, but it was his one-out single in the first that helped the Yankees take control of the game. The hard single through the left side on a 1-0 fastball plated Gardner and Hicks to make it a 2-0 game and set the tone."

13 hits for the Yankees.  10 runs... and no letting up. Brett Gardner... Matt Holliday both homer.  Sanchez, 3-3. Torreyes 2-5. Jacoby Ellsbury worked 3 walks. Once again, it wasn't about 1 guy... it as a team effort.

Special? Yup. It's what you dream of as a kid when you root so hard for your team and it hurts.  I see it in my 14 year old now who can't take his eyes off the screen.  Fans love winners...

I tip my cap to this team without getting too giddy.  I don't want to jinx it... but I am LOVING what I'm seeing.
