The New York Yankees are freaking busy.
The Yanks made 2 moves today. I found them interesting but our team are clearly looking to upgrade and so they are going for it.
First off, the Yanks designated Branden Pinder for assignment. That's 1. The second move is that they claimed lefty Joe Mantiply off waivers from the Tigers. According to SNY:
"The Yankees have claimed LHP Joe Mantiply off waivers from Detroit and have designated RHP Branden Pinder for assignment, the team announced on Tuesday.
Mantiply earned a 16.88 ERA in 2.2 innings for the Tigers
in 2016. The lefty pitcher spent most of the season in the minors, going
4-2 with a 2.73 ERA and 1.062 WHIP in 59.1 innings between Detroit's AA
and AAA affiliates."
The ERA means nothing. Don't panic. The story isn't that but instead the fact that the Yanks are looking to make moves to improve. This kid's a stud.
Moves are happen... more to come.
