Now we have no idea if this is official yet, although every indication says it is.
Finally, after some setbacks and log jams in the Yankee roster, Tyler Austin will get the call. Why? Because he's due... and it's time.
We wrote about Tyler Austin recently in TYLER AUSTIN DESERVES THE CALL! In fact, it was written on August 6th and since then a ton of people have read and shared it and liked it... including Tyler's parents.
Now Kenny Rosenthal of FOX Sports has this tweet:
Couple that with alittle info from LoHud and we have a story:Sources: Tyler Austin joining #Yankees tomorrow, replacing A-Rod.— Ken Rosenthal (@Ken_Rosenthal) August 13, 2016
"Austin's an easy guy to root for in the Yankees' system. The 24-year-old was a 13th-round pick in 2010 and hit his way into Baseball America's Top 100 prospects by the end of 2012. Injuries, though, knocked him to the fringes of the prospect radar in recent years. His wrist was particularly troublesome, and Austin was demoted from Triple-A to Double-A last season. He was also taken off the 40-man roster and passed through waivers without a claim. The Yankees did not so much as invite him to big league camp.
This season, thought, Austin has played his way back to Triple-A. He leads the system in doubles and RBIs, and he's second in OPS. He's hit .333 in his past 10 games.

Primarily a right fielder and first baseman, Austin could essentially take Rob Refsnyder's role as a part-time player at those two positions. He also has experience in left field, and lately he's begun to play some third base again. Joe Girardi has mentioned Austin as a candidate to play first base next season after Mark Teixeira retires."
And so there you have it. Austin is the best guy to see up in the Bronx right now. And we look forward to seeing Wonderboy... as I call him.
I'm headed to the beach for a long awaited day off.... see you tomorrow.
