ALLEGED DOMESTIC ABUSE HOLDING UP CHAPMAN TRADE

Quick note because this falls in line with the new Domestic Abuse guidelines the MLB put in place. (Read MLB DOMESTIC ABUSE POLICY IS CLOSE from July).

Earlier today we reported that Aroldis Chapman was traded to the Dodgers for 2 prospects. It turns out that deal is NOT done.  Here's why, and we'll bring in MLB Trade Rumors Jeff Todd with the story:

"Chapman’s girlfriend told investigating officers that he “choked” her and pushed her against a wall. Chapman is also alleged to have discharged a handgun into the garage of his home.

There were no arrests in the incident. Chapmans attorney, Jay Reisinger, said in a statement to Yahoo that he and his client “vehemently deny the allegations as stated.”

The incident is the reason that a reported trade this morning to the Dodgers has been held up, according to Yahoo."

Yahoo Sports were the original reporters of the story.

So now we wait and see what happens with this trade.  All very interesting and obviously the system appears to be working.
