BOMBERS BASHING IN MINNESOTA!
The Yankees just keep rolling and it comes in nice clusters. You see the Yankees able to put together a string a runs in one shot, and then, with their pitching, most times they're able to hold their opponent. It's baseball... and it's the way it should be played. No more are we waiting for players to get the runner home. It's happening, with clutch hits and even sacrifices and I gotta tell you, it makes me happy.
Nathan Eovaldi took the mound for the Yanks yesterday. He went 8 innings, giving up 8 hits and only 2 runs. He struck out 5. Eovaldi is having the season many of us predicted he would eventually have if he came to New York. He's 10-2... clearly on his way to having a great season. It is good to see.
Oh, by the way, those 2 runs would be the only runs the Twins would score.
The Yankee run machine happened like this:
In the 5th, Chase Headley homered. It was a solo shot. Then, in the 6th, it was Garrett Jones singling home Gardy. Headley then singled knocking in 2. After that, Didi Gregorius sac bunted and Jones scored in the process.
Stephen Drew then followed with a 2 run homer.
Yanks are rolling... gotta give them love right now... they're doing exactly what many never thought... they're having their run.
Final: Yankees 7 - Twins 2
