SABATHIA'S EXCITED & YOU SHOULD BE TOO

CC Sabathia takes the hill today.

The New York Post has this one. Some great quotes from the Monster himself:
"It's my opener...I’m excited. Especially getting the chance to pitch at home, first start. It’ll be fun...  , just having a year off and not pitching since May, it’s going to be fun, especially to be home and have that energy....  Just the health and the way I felt out there. I know I didn’t have the best results but just getting back into game situations and getting used to being out on the mound. It felt pretty good.."
It's the roar of the Monster. It's his rally cry.  It's time.

Not sure how many realized it, but on Opening day at the stadium, CC received a roar from the crowd. Big cheers for a guy that has had some injury and obstacles along the way.  He's struggled, he's frustrated, but he's trying to get back for the team and for the fans. In essence, he's never given up on himself and on us.  How can you NOT appreciate that?

I was thinking about another guy who's the same way. Ty Hensley. Ty's gone through injury and obstacles alot, but fans look at him and say, "Don't worry, Ty Hensley will make it, because he can do anything", and he hasn't even thrown a major league pitch yet.  Why not do the same and rally behind someone like CC Sabathia?  It's the same struggle and both players have a very similar make up when it comes to being competitors.  As fans, we need to rally behind this guy.  CC has given us some great years and we need to back this big lug!  He's a gamer, and he always will be.

Cue "Going the Distance", by Bill Conti.

Good luck tonight C... go hard!
