ROGERS SOLID BUT YANKS LOSE TO JAYS
Esmil Rogers, who's trying to get that 5th spot in the Yankees rotation was solid against the Blue Jays yesterday, pitching 3 innings and didn't allow a run. He is making a good name for himself. I'm officially pulling for this guy.
Alex Rodriguez got some playing time at 3rd. In fact, according to MLB.com, "Rodriguez got the start at third base for New York and went 1-for-3 with a single off the wall in right field. He struck out in his first at-bat on three pitches and later flied out to right in his final appearance of the game. Rodriguez is 6-for-16 with a homer and two RBIs in seven games this spring.
The single by Rodriguez in the fourth inning was one of the only hard-hit balls against Blue Jays starter Daniel Norris, who pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings while striking out four."
In other words, the Yanks were a dud this game when it came to offense. It happens... don't panic... no big deal.
Don't forget, they also played the Tigers yesterday and won.
Final: Blue Jays 1 - Yankees 0
