Earlier today, the Yankees traded with the Marlins. The names were familiar; Martin Prado and David Phelps for Nathan Eovaldi and Garrett Jones. What you probably don't realize is the Yankees also got a righty prospect in that deal. The name was Domingo German.
Now, it seems the Yankees have traded for another player. His name is Gonzalez Germen.. EN at the end, not AN. Weird coincidence or something. Anyway, the trade was with the Mets. The Yanks traded cash to complete the deal. That comes from ESPN:
#Mets trade Gonzalez Germen, who had been designated for assignment. Headed to #Yankees for cash.

Germen is a righty pitcher who, in 30.1 IP, had a 4.75 ERA. That's all I got. On it's surface, I don't like it.So there you have it. First we trade for a German. Now they trade for a Germen. I wonder if the Yankees have any plans to trade for an actual German. We'll have to wait and see... it's been busy today, so anything is possible.
