BYB KNOWS HOW BRETT GARDNER FEELS

Brett Gardner underwent a minor surgery today.  The procedure was to correct a core muscle injury.

 According to Bryan Hoch:

"The Yankees said that Gardner had the procedure performed on his right rectus abdominis muscle on Oct. 16. The surgery was performed by Dr. William Meyers at the Philadelphia Vincera Institute in Philadelphia."

I reached out to Brett's media person today to get see how Brett feels. The response was expected, because Gardy is a tough cookie, but it's still nice to get a quote once in a while. Quite simply, he "feels good."

So now he'll rehab and hopefully, according to Gardner in a few weeks he should be at 100%.  Obviously this is good news. Gardy was a leader on the Yankees this season and we fans expect more of the same in 2015.  Remember, when we interviewed Brett this season, one of the best parts of our interview was to get a sense of how he felt knowing his contract extension was secure with the Yankees.  Here's that exchange from  BRETT GARDNER EXCLUSIVE: A RUNYON 5K RUN INTERVIEW:

"BYB:  How does being locked up for the next few years with the Yankees help you relax more and just concentrate on being the best player you can be?

Brett Gardner:  For me, it was a matter of making the decision obviously based on numbers and what I was comfortable with, but also a big part of my decision was I felt like by signing that contract, it gave me the best chance to stay in New York and hopefully finish my career in New York.  Signing the contract gave me the best opportunity to do that."
Gotta love Gardy.  Good luck on a full recovery pal.
