CHRIS YOUNG HAS A JOB WITH THE YANKEES APPARENTLY
Well, this came as a surprise. For a team that needed offense, I'm not sure why the Yankees would even think about a player like Chris Young, but they have.
According to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com, the Yankees have signed Young to a minor league deal. Heyman says: "The Yankees signed free-agent outfielder Chris Young to a minor-league deal, sources say.
Young struggled across town with the Mets this year after signing a one-year, $7.25-million deal with them, and the Mets wound up releasing Young.
Young is considered a very good outfielder with some power, but he hit just .205 with eight homers for the Mets and the signing became the target of a lot of criticism."
OK then. Again... Chris Young? Really? I mean yeah, it's a minor league deal and if it can help, I'm all for it. But all I keep seeing is a .205 avg.
Welcome, Mr. Young. Good luck to you.
