YANKS HANG ON & WIN 2 IN A ROW
The Yankees were up 6-1 at 1 point in today's game. But then it became 6-5, the Twins stormed back. Then, our pal David Robertson shut the door. I like that.
Chase Whitley was not outstanding today. He went 3 innings, gave up 8 hits and 4 runs. David Huff, Adam Warren, Dellin Betances and DRob all followed. Betances gave up the only other run... and his ERA is still hovering around 1.61. Awesome!
The Yankee hitting and run scoring went like this:
First off, Brian Roberts was 4-5 today. I guess he read TIME TO MAKE CHANGES AT SECOND BASE on BYB, got pissed and was proving us wrong today. Anyway... check it out...
Roberts doubled in the first, knocking in Brett Gardner. Mark Teixeira then doubled knocking in Roberts. Carlos Beltran then sacrificed home Tex. In the second, Brendan Ryan sacrificed home Francisco Cervelli. Jacoby Ellsbury then singled and knocked in 2.
Over all, the Yanks hit well. Gotta give Roberts big props. Good game today.
Final: Yankees 6 - Twins 5
Can we win 3 in a row? Hopefully.
