SUCKVILLE U.S.A.
Phil Hughes is now 6-1. How the hell did that happen? Well, sometimes when players leave the New York Yankees... they shine. Good for Hughes. Today, the Yankees lost. There wasn't much to it in the Bronx today... we offered nothing and Hughes and the Twins showed up.
Hughes went 8 innings giving up 2 runs to the Yankees. In the bottom of the 4th, Derek Jeter singled knocking in Brett Gardner. In the same inning, Ichiro sacrificed home Jeet. Those are the 2 for New York and that's really all she wrote in Yankeeland.
Give a cap tip to Chase Whitley though... he went 5 innings giving up only 1 run on 5 hits. Poor David Robertson had an ugly outing giving up 5 runs today and getting the loss. Hey, the guy rarely shits the bed... don't be mad, get over it. DRob will be back next game.
Sometimes you just have a bad outing... and that's all today was for Houdini.
Final: Twins 7 - Yankees 2
