SQUEEZING ONE OUT IN SEATTLE

Here come the fart jokes...

BYB reader and long time Yankee fan Sidney Koss said it best on Facebook last night:

He was right. We needed Nuno to do well. We needed the Yankees to figure out a way to win.  In Seattle, with that ball park, we needed everyone contributing somehow.  We did.

Vidal Nuno went 5.1 innings, he gave up only 4 hits and 1 run.  They didn't stretch him out last night.  We didn't do too much.  We let him pitch to his limitations and allowed our bullpen to do the rest. In the end, just Dellin Betances gave up a run and David Robertson got his 15th save. Betances ended up getting the win. He's now 4-0. That's teamwork... I'll take everything I can get right now.

The Yankees had 8 hits and scored 3 runs like this:

In the first, Carlos Beltran doubled knocking in Derek Jeter.  Then, Brian McCann singled knocking in Mark Teixeira.

The Yankees didn't score again until the 8th when Jacoby Ellsbury singled and Jeet scored.  Those are your 3, and while the hits could have been more with the lineup we have, the key players, the guys we have been riding, reallly contributed.  Maybe this is the beginning of something good.

Final: Yankees 3 - Mariners 2

Overall, a good win... and now we move on. 2 wins is 2 in a row. 3... well, that's a winning streak.
