You ever have one of those days? You wake up late because you've overslept. You miss the train. Maybe your coffee spills on your tie? That's a crappy start to the day, right? Well, if you were a Yankee fan, today just sucked! That being said, also remember what John Sterling tells us so often... "That's baseball Suzyn... you never can predict it."
On paper, the Yankees have the better club. But today the Orioles handed the Yankees' asses to them. All the Yanks can do right now is suck it up, and come back tomorrow and win. Not a good day for Ivan Nova. Not a good day for many in pinstripes...
The Yankees scored 5 runs to the Orioles 14. That's right, FOURTEEN! Not good. Ivan Nova pitched 3.2 innings and gave up 10 hits and 7 runs. Vidal Nuno gave up another 7. I mean, what the hell, right?
After the first 7, what's another 7? The pitching was bad. Hey, maybe Nova and Nuno went to the strip club last night. Maybe they pulled an all nighter. I'm trying to be comical about this, because I just don't see these 2 shitting the bed as bad as they did. But hey, it happened. We need to move on.
As far as the Yankee runs, 5 of them was it... and it went like this:
Jacoby Ellsbury was 3-4 today. He's up to .414 this season. I like that. Soriano was 2-4 with a home run and an RBI today. Kelly Johnson cranked one too. Oh... and Yangervis Solarte... 2-4 again today. This dude is in every play! Win or lose, he comes to play, I love watching this guy work!
Final today: Orioles 14 - Yankees 5
