ICHIRO IS THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN
Wait... I don't hear the Ichiro critics today. You know, the ones who keep saying that Ichiro can't play anymore. Where are they? Radio silence.
I failed to post this in my recap this morning about the Yankees win over the Red Sox, but the more I thought about it, it's better for it to be in it's own post anyway.
This is Ichiro Suzuki diving toward the wall at Yankee Stadium last night on a monster shot by Big Papi. No, it wouldn't have gone out, but I don't see Carlos Beltran making the same catch. Check it out:
Everything happens for a reason, and there's a reason why Ichiro wasn't traded in the off season. It is for this exact moment. In case of injury, in case of late inning defensive heroics that we need Ichiro Suzuki, the Amazing Spiderman.
Love this guy...
By the way, credit where credit is due. That picture at the top was courtesy of Big Ralf and Chad MacDonald. It was released when we wrote: WHAT IF THE YANKEES WERE SUPERHEROES? on BYB back in January.
