In case you missed it, Episode 31 of JCTV with Jack Curry is out, and he was speaking with none other than Hal Steinbrenner. The two discussed George Steinbrenner's legacy, among other things.
Jack asked Hal about the most memorable lesson his father taught him, and about the significance of having his fathers name on the Tampa park. He also asked about receiving that call from Derek Jeter, making financial decisions for the team, and baseball cards.
I think my favorite quote from the interview was when Jack asked him about his pilots license. Hal told about taking The Boss up on a flight with a smile.
"I took him up a couple of times. That was interesting. A man always used to being in control, having no control whatsoever. I'm just like 'Dad, please don't touch the rudder pedals. Don't touch anything. Just look for other planes."
It's a happy memory, and I was glad he shared it.
