ARE THE YANKEES FINALLY GONNA GET STEPHEN DREW?

...or do the Yankees even bother at this point?

Just a quick note about Stephen Drew... he's the most sought-after free agent infielder that still isn't signed... It's amazing to me.   What's the concern? Probably his hitting.  His fielding is exceptional.

Now look, we have gone from the Yankees being very interested in Drew, read HERE, to the Red Sox reportedly offering Drew a 2 year deal, read HERE. NESN writes: "Cherington has said multiple times this offseason that the team has maintained an open dialogue with shortstop Stephen Drew and his agent, Scott Boras. The details of a potential reunion get hazy beyond that. ESPN.com’s Jim Bowden reported Monday that Drew has received a two-year offer from the Red Sox, although it’s unclear when the offer was submitted or what the proposed deal entails in terms of salary."

Now the latest is the New York Mets made Drew an offer. But that's being disputed by Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News:
I mean, this dude's popular, huh?

Look, in the end, I'm not 100% sure the Yankees need this guy.  Yes, he's a solid fielder, but we have plenty already signed, plus, we have some kids on the farm eagar to impress in Spring Training... I just don't know if the Yankees need to "go there."

We'll see, and if anything happens with Drew, we'll tell you. It's an interesting case to say the least.
