and do we even need him?
Look, we just wrote MEET THE YANKEES "A-TEAM", Logic will tell you that if all those guys in our Yankees roation are healthy and ready, we're fine. I am always worryng that we need to stockpile arms though, in the event that pitchers crap out.
I mean, who knows what Michael Pineda has... and will Hiroki Kuroda get tired by May? Who knows, right?
We've brought up Ervin Santana alot here. He's a guy that isn't spectacular, but could possibly be helpful to the Yankees, my opinion of course. Will the Yankees go after him? I'm not sure, should they? Hey, maybe, if he'll accept a minor league deal, then I'm in. That would spice up the competition in the back end of the rotation.
Here's what we do know, courtesy of Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish, " Ervin Santana is drawing interest from eight teams including the Rockies, Orioles, Mariners, Yankees and Dodgers, according to a source with direct knowledge of the situation."
Now, you know I hate the term "a source with direct knowledge of the situation." Cotillo is going by way of Jon Heyman here, and I hate that, but it's a nice nugget to consider.
The bigger question is, can Santana help the Yankees?
We'll have to wait and see, stay tuned...
