THE YANKS ARE AVOIDING ARBITRATION LIKE CRAZY

Just wanted to keep you in the loop on this stuff.  I find the arbitration story boring, but we need to report it all the same. They are our Yankees... you know what I mean? So, here it goes...

Accoring to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, giving credit to the New York Post, " Gardner will earn $5.6 million, Kelley received $1.765 million, Nova settled at $3.3 million and Robertson agreed to a deal worth $5.215 million." All are 1 year deals.

He goes on and talks about the deal with Francisco Cervelli: "The club did announce on Thursday evening that it had reached agreement on a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with catcher Francisco Cervelli, a deal that will reportedly be worth $700,000.

With those five players off the board, the Yankees have no remaining unsigned players eligible for salary arbitration. The deals, while expected, have inched the Yanks closer to exceeding their stated goal of a payroll that resides at or below $189 million."

So there you have it.  The next time you want to chat about salary arbitration with your friends this weekend... you have it.
