OVERBAY'S OK WITH ME!

"Two games in Hollywood between two of the most storied franchises in baseball history, two heroic endings.

Only on Wednesday, it was the New York Yankees who came through in the ninth inning, a day after the Dodgers walked off with their 10th win in 11 games.

Pinch hitter Lyle Overbay broke a scoreless tie with a ninth-inning RBI single, and the Yankees halted the scorching Dodgers' run with a 3-0 win Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium."
That comes from the Sports Xchange guy, Jon Gold (HERE). I liked the opening of his piece, so I had to print it.

The Yankees won last night thanks to Lyle Overbay.  Plus, Hiroki Kuroda is such a great pitcher right now, we need to just be happy he's with us.  He went 7 innings allowing 5 hits and 0 runs.  Hey, we beat Clayton Kershaw... no easy task.

But it was Overbay who came through big in the top of the 9th after a full game of goose eggs. Overbay singled, scoring Robinson Cano.  At that point it was Jayson Nix  who reached on a fielding error by Mark Ellis and that scored Ichiro Suzuki and Lyle Overbay.  That was it, after that, Mariano Rivera came in and it was over... Yankees win in dramatic style.

Final: Yankees 3 - Dodgers 0.

Let's keep it going.
