NO CERVELLI, SAY IT AINT SO!

This team could use some of that great Francisco Cervelli energy....but it's not looking good. We haven't seen him since way back in April. Back when we were already bitten by the injury bug but were still feeling the positivity. Well, at least I was. It sounded like he would be back. I was hoping no news was good news for a change.

It's not looking good though. Pick your poison because it sounds like it is very possible that he is out for the rest of the season. If he were to somehow avoid a suspension in the BioGenesis chaos, he still isn't 100% and even Brian Cashman doesn't sound too optimistic at this point, read that HERE.

In April, Cervelli broke a finger that eventually led him to the disabled list which is already cluttered with Yankees. He went to see a specialist in Cleveland because he is still experiencing pain. It sounded like yet another setback, but according to doctor's the finger is fine. So what's the deal? Maybe it's all in his head. Maybe he is stressed out.

Speaking of stress, Cervelli is still dealing with what was diagnosed as a "stress reaction" in his throwing elbow from last month. Cervelli is scheduled to see Dr. James Andrews to get it looked at. Whenever the Yankees send someone to him it never ends up being good news. Who knows, I could be wrong this time. But even if he doesn't have a stress fracture in his elbow he certainly has enough anxiety to deal with.

Suspensions are supposedly looming....as we all know by now. Everyday headlines say "Suspensions could come today." I could also hit the lottery today, move to the Hamptons and get that coveted home next to Billy Joel. Either way, fans are sitting and waiting. If it isn't news on his injuries, it will be on this.

So either way, it doesn't sound good. Even if he is spared, an ailing finger and a sore elbow are not going to give this team the boost it desperately needs. Maybe Cervelli will just pull a Ryan Braun and miss the rest of the season on suspension while he recovers from his aches and pains. Of course, if anything happens we will let you know right here.
