YANKS BEAT SEATTLE & THE MO SHOW CONTINUES

Whenever a team wins a game, it's a good thing. Whenever a team wins the series, it's better.  Today, the Yankees completed a 2 wins to 1 series victory against the Mariners and Mariano Rivera just keeps on pitching his heart out in the final season of his career... life is good.

The Yankees only scored 2 runs today... the Mariners, 1. The Yanks runs came when Brett Gardner knocked in Jayson Nix in the second inning and then later in the game, when the Yankees needed him most, catcher Chris Stewart singled in Ichiro Suzuki to get the go ahead run in the 9th.

Obviously we all know what happened next.  Mariano Rivera comes in, shuts down the Mariners, get his 23rd save and we move on...nice!

Tough pitching today for David Phelps who went 6 innings allowing only 3 hits and 1 run. Boone Logan was next, followed by David Robertson who got the W today... and obviously the Sandman then shut the door.

Nice and easy for the Yanks, I could not be happier.

Final: Yankees 2 - Mariners 1.
