YANKEES SHAKE THE FUNK IN ANAHEIM

It was starting to get ridiculous.  The Yankees were in a free fall, losing 5 in a row and no offense to speak of.  Today, the Yanks were able to not get swept by the Angels and Thank god! The best thing that can happen now is we begin a winning streak coming back home to the Bronx... one can dream.

CC Sabathia got the win today.  He pitched really well going 8 innings, allowing just 5 hits and giving up 2 runs.  He also struck out 6. When David Robertson came in, it wasn't his finest hour, but I don't hold that against DRob. The guy's pitched well for us since he's put on pinstripes.  Today, he went just 0.1 innings and when he had trouble, Mariano Rivera came in. Then, he gave up DRob's runs (2) to make it closer. Luckily though, Mo got the Save... number 24.

The hitting went like this for the Yankees: In the third, Pronk cranked out a 3 run homer. That was followed by a Lyle Overbay double which scored Vernon Wells and then Jayson Nix singled home Overbay.

In the 8th, Vernon Wells sacrificed home Robinson Cano.  Those are your 6 to the Angels 5.

This win was important and now they go back to the Bronx and try to keep going. I hated this West Coast swing.  The Yankees need to continue winning home now.  The offense needs to wake up and it's my gut feeling telling me that Wells is about to get back to hitting again. I don't know why... but I feel like his slump is about to end.

Final: Yankees 6 - Angels 5
